Traditional Weeks, Weeks 1 and 2

For ages 5  --- 13 years old

We provide an exceptional range of other activities in addition to rehearsing and producing the play. The drama side is mainly for those keen on acting, but all the children are encouraged to appear in the play. However, it is important to stress that the week is planned just as much to suit those not so interested in acting.  We provide a wonderful setting with one of the largest above ground swimming pools available,  Tennis Courts, Green Room and Playing Fields. There is a Tuck shop, Ice cream man and Water slide. We have, of course, a fully qualified Life Guard. We constantly review our activities and introduce new ones. The programme appeals to all tastes.

Please note that we are returning to the original format that your child must attend for the whole week, the only exception being that, if you cannot make the Saturday, you inform us when booking. 

Independence

2024 Dates

During the week the children attend rehearsals for the show, usually only 15 minutes at a time and the show will be performed again this year on the Saturday MORNING. The show will be one with plenty of familiar characters. Those who want to be considered for leading parts must audition on Sunday 9th June 2024 between 10 am and 3 pm. Contact Mike to book a slot.

We will continue the successful format of an early rehearsals for the leads on Sunday June 30th  and/or July 7th between 10 am & 12 noon at Goldwyn. There is always a variety of parts from lead roles to roles with less lines - please just tell us what you would like to do. Remember non-drama children need only appear in the show or can assist back stage. We would like to develop this aspect, but remind you that they must appear on the Saturday for the show. Theatre is made up of more than just the Actors.  

We would like to remind everyone how important Saturday is with its performance and prize giving, as well as being the culmination of the week. We feel it is very important for children and parents to attend. If you do miss it you will miss seeing at first hand what is so special about our Summer Fun Camp. We are very proud of the community spirit and the pastoral care your children experience. Two years ago, for the first time, we moved the Show time to 11.00 a.m for the reasons stated earlier, [to help parents holiday plans and we no longer need saturday mornings for Get-ins]. The cast will come in at 10.00 and it will all be over by 1.00p.m. 

We also offer a Breakfast club from Monday to Friday and for an extra £5.00 per child per day your child can be dropped off at 8.00am where they can also be provided with breakfast. As well as the Breakfast club, we also offer an Afternoon club for an extra £5.00 per child per day enabling you pick up your children at 5.00/5.30pm. (NB this only runs Mon-Thur). These can be booked on a day-by-day basis either when booking or during the week.

As you can see we run a full programme and squeeze as many activities in as possible. The programme is designed to nurture community spirit, encourage confidence in all the children and pastoral care is paramount.

Development of Child

Our seniors are now very experienced and efficient and they are one of the main reasons why the younger children love Summer Fun Camp so much. They all wear distinctive T-Shirts to help identify them quickly. The children from previous years have responded to this format in a extremely positive way.
